Hainan: Increase support for the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine innovation, striving to promote the registration or filing of more than 15 in-house formulations by the end of 2027.

The "Implementation Plan for Comprehensive Deepening of Drug, Medical Devices, and Cosmetics Supervision Reform to Promote High-quality Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Hainan Province" was released to the public on the 29th. It proposes to increase support for the research and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine. First, it encourages the secondary development of in-house traditional Chinese medicine formulations. Support will be provided for the excavation and transformation of famous doctors' prescriptions using southern and Li traditional medicines, converting registered decoctions to granules and powders to pills, simplifying the registration process, and streamlining registration materials. Second, support will be given to the promotion of key traditional Chinese medicine preparations. Efforts will be made to explore and promote the use of prescriptions from national Chinese medicine masters and well-known experiences with reduced documentation requirements from 5 years to 3 years. Support will be provided for in-house formulations that meet the requirements to be dispensed within the province's medical consortium. Third, medical institutions are encouraged to carry out formulation research and development. Certain funding support will be provided for in-house formulation research and development projects in medical institutions, aiming to promote the registration or filing of more than 15 in-house formulations by the end of 2027.
