Tesla announced that the Semi factory has been completed and is expected to go into production next year, with prices potentially increasing significantly.
According to the US electric vehicle website Electrek, Tesla is expected to achieve mass production of its Semi electric semi-trailer truck in 2026. Over the past two years, Tesla has been working on building a new factory near its Gigafactory in Nevada. On Monday local time, Tesla announced the latest progress of the factory, confirming that the construction has been completed and production lines are now being deployed. Tesla had previously stated its goal of achieving mass production of the Semi by 2025, but it is now expected to start production by the end of this year and ramp up next year. Recent reports have indicated that an early customer of the Tesla Semi has stated that the price of the truck has increased significantly from their initial expectations, causing them to reduce their order from 42 trucks to 18.
