Standard & Poor's has indicated that it is no longer considering downgrading Boeing's credit rating to junk status, citing the aircraft manufacturer's $24 billion cash balance as providing a cushion for future difficulties. The ratings agency stated that it is no longer considering a downgrade following Boeing's progress in restructuring after a difficult 2024. Standard & Poor's noted that it is no longer actively considering lowering Boeing's rating, which currently stands at BBB-, one level above junk status. In a statement on Monday, Standard & Poor's said, "Boeing appears to be gradually recovering from the production stoppage caused by the 2024 strike and ongoing production quality issues."
