Trump claims that tariff revenue reaches $3 billion per day? Data reveals that it is actually much lower than expected.
President Trump recently stated that the United States tariffs bring in $3 billion in revenue for the government every day, and even hinted that in the future, tariff revenue could possibly replace individual income taxes. However, daily financial reports from the U.S. Treasury Department show that the reality is quite different from Trump's claims. According to the Treasury Department data, since the tariffs were increased to their current level on April 9th, the United States has collected a total of $14.7 billion in revenue from import tariffs. This number represents a 135% increase from the same period in 2024 and an 83% increase from March 2025. When calculated into daily revenue, it is approximately $918 million, far lower than the "daily $3 billion" that Trump claimed earlier this month in the Oval Office.
