The flight to Newark Airport was delayed by the Federal Aviation Administration due to equipment and personnel issues.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States said that due to a series of issues, traffic was slowed at Newark Liberty Airport on Monday, prompting United Airlines to divert at least 35 flights to other airports. United Airlines is the largest airline operating outside of New York City, and the company stated that equipment failures at the FAA caused significant traffic disruptions. Due to staffing issues at the FAA, it is anticipated that there will be flight cancellations and delays for the remainder of the day.
