The U.S. aviation industry, due to President Donald Trump's initiation of a trade war and declining travel demand, is currently facing difficulties and is lobbying the White House for tariff exemptions. Industry officials have met with senior officials from the Trump administration, including Trump himself, requesting them to restore the duty-free system as stipulated in the 1979 Civil Aircraft Agreement.
