According to the transportation department of Shanghai, during the upcoming "May Day" holiday, Shanghai's railway is expected to transport 4.46 million passengers, with a daily average of 558,000, an increase of 8.4% compared to the previous year. The peak travel day is expected to be May 1st, with an estimated 763,000 passengers, an increase of 16.3% compared to the previous year; the second peak day is expected to be May 2nd, with an estimated 673,000 passengers. It is also estimated that there will be 4.4 million arriving passengers, with a daily average of 550,000, an increase of 9.1% compared to the previous year. The peak arrival day is expected to be May 5th, with 755,000 arriving passengers, an increase of 19%; the second peak day is expected to be May 4th, with an estimated 690,000 arriving passengers.
