European Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen stated that Europe still relies on Russian natural gas. In an interview, he said, "It is obvious that we still depend on Russian natural gas," and expressed that "this dependency is unacceptable." Jorgensen mentioned that he will soon submit a roadmap for Europe to gradually phase out its reliance on Russian natural gas. Additionally, Jorgensen emphasized that Europe also depends on the United States for liquefied natural gas supply. He said, "We must acknowledge that currently we rely on the United States for liquefied natural gas supply." At the same time, he expressed belief that "there is an opportunity to import more natural gas from the United States."
