Minister of Natural Resources Guan Zhili yu meets with Minister of Energy and Mining of Cuba.

On April 24th, Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Guan Zhiou, met with the Minister of Energy and Mines of Cuba, Vincente de Lara Levi, in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the mining industry between China and Cuba. Guan Zhiou suggested that in order to enhance cooperation in the future, they should jointly promote the application of foreign aid resource survey projects, guide companies to carry out specific project cooperation, and improve the level of mineral resource development in Cuba. They should also enhance the demonstration and application of new geological survey technologies, promote talent through projects, and convert research results into productivity. Furthermore, they should continue to collaborate with the international research centers of UNESCO on geochemistry and karst research, promote the "Chemical Earth" major scientific program and cooperation in karst geological parks. They welcomed a high-level delegation from Cuba to attend meetings in China and make good use of the platform of the China Mining International Conference for the promotion of mining projects. After the meeting, the two sides witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Earth Science Cooperation between the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Director of the China Geological Survey, Xu Dachun, and the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines of Cuba.
