Astronomers confirm the existence of a "rogue black hole".

A research team composed of the United States Space Telescope Science Institute has confirmed for the first time in a paper published in the latest issue of the Astrophysical Journal the existence of "rogue black holes". It drifts alone in the universe without any stars orbiting around it. This discovery is significant because all previously known black holes have been discovered through interactions with companion stars.
