The technology and energy industries gathered at the Ham American Energy Institute in Oklahoma City to discuss how the United States can meet the increasing energy demands of artificial intelligence data centers. Most large technology companies invest in renewable energy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, but they are now facing a changing political environment. President Trump has abandoned the US commitments to address climate change in an effort to increase production of fossil fuels, especially natural gas. Now, the technology industry is increasingly openly admitting that at least in the short term, natural gas is needed to provide energy for artificial intelligence.
