According to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, this week, the continuous closure of the Yangtze River due to strong winds has resulted in slow turnover of shipping capacity. Coupled with the approaching May Day holiday and increasing terminal transportation demand, the situation of fewer ships and more cargo has led to a steady increase in the coastal bulk freight index. On April 25th, the Shanghai Shipping Exchange reported that the China Coastal Comprehensive Freight Index closed at 1067.83 points, up 0.5% from the previous period.
