During the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund/World Bank in April 2025, the Governor of the People's Bank of China, Pan Gongsheng, met with the Governors of the Central Banks of South Korea, Brazil, South Africa, and Argentina in Washington, D.C., United States. They mainly exchanged views on the global economic and financial situation, deepening bilateral pragmatic cooperation, and other issues. China emphasized that the current global economic recovery is full of uncertainties, and that emerging markets and developing countries should leverage the increasing political mutual trust and economic complementarity to strengthen policy coordination through multilateral and bilateral channels, promote pragmatic financial cooperation, and uphold the global governance order based on multilateral rules.
