Professor from Renmin University: Post-60s retire with money, leisure, and good health will truly usher in commercialization of the silver economy.

Professor Yu Ze from the School of Economics at Renmin University of China pointed out that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China's silver economy will truly enter the commercialization era. He mentioned that during this period, the "60s generation" in China will all reach retirement age. They are the generation that fully benefited from the reform and opening-up policy, as they were born in the 1960s, started working during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and experienced the full implementation of social security after 1998. Professor Yu emphasized that this generation will have both wealth and time after retirement, and will be in good health in their 60s. He stated that this group, known as the "energetic elderly," will signify the start of a commercialization era for China's silver economy.
