The China Electricity Council released the "Analysis and Forecast Report on National Electricity Supply and Demand Situation in the First Quarter of 2025." The report indicates that the newly added installed capacity of power generation nationwide in 2025 is expected to exceed 450 million kilowatts, with new energy power generation capacity exceeding 300 million kilowatts. By the end of 2025, the national installed capacity of power generation is expected to exceed 3.8 billion kilowatts, an increase of around 14% compared to the previous year. Among them, non-fossil energy power generation capacity will be around 2.3 billion kilowatts, accounting for over 60% of the total installed capacity. The breakdown includes hydropower at 450 million kilowatts, on-grid wind power at 640 million kilowatts, on-grid solar power at 1.1 billion kilowatts, nuclear power at 65 million kilowatts, and biomass power generation at around 48 million kilowatts. Coal-fired power generation will be at 1.55 billion kilowatts, with coal power accounting for about 1.27 billion kilowatts, decreasing to around one-third of the total installed capacity by the end of the year.
