The person in charge of the Department of E-commerce of the Ministry of Commerce answered questions from reporters about purchasing internationally renowned brands from alleged "China outsourcing factories" at low prices on overseas social platforms.
The head of the E-commerce Division of the Ministry of Commerce stated that the Chinese government attaches great importance to the protection of intellectual property rights. In recent years, Chinese market regulatory authorities have continuously strengthened administrative law enforcement, lawfully investigated and dealt with trademark infringement and counterfeiting patent cases, conducted special law enforcement actions to protect intellectual property rights and combat unfair competition on the internet, in order to better protect the legitimate rights and interests of right holders and consumers.
At the same time, commerce authorities at all levels have also taken proactive actions, implementing actions to nurture quality e-commerce, urging major e-commerce platforms to fulfill their responsibilities, conducting qualifications access, AI + human review, and strengthening the full-process control of intellectual property protection. For clues of illegal activities such as false marketing and infringement counterfeiting under the guise of "contract factories", they will be promptly handed over to administrative law enforcement authorities for lawful investigation.
