The Ministry of Transport and nine other departments have issued guidelines on promoting the integration of transportation and energy development. The guidelines encourage the promotion of new models and the incubation of emerging industries. By aggregating distributed energy sources, electric vehicles, charging facilities, and other resources, a virtual power plant will be created in the transportation sector. The guidelines also aim to promote commercial model innovation such as separating vehicle and battery, and to vigorously develop emerging industries such as battery asset management and financing lease of new energy transportation equipment, creating a smart integrated industry innovation platform for vehicles, stations, charging piles, and networks. Furthermore, the guidelines seek to promote the deep integration of new energy vehicles with smart energy, intelligent transportation, and smart cities, leading to the development of a new type of eco-innovation in the automotive industry.
