Our country has achieved for the first time satellite laser ranging of the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

Reporters learned from the Space Application Engineering and Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that recently, the Chinese Academy of Sciences' "Exploration Research on Earth-Moon Space DRO" Class A Leading Project successfully conducted a new technology experiment of satellite laser ranging at a distance of about 350,000 kilometers using the DRO-A satellite single cone reflector and a ground-based 1.2-meter aperture telescope laser ranging system. This is the first time in China to achieve satellite laser ranging on the scale of Earth-Moon distance.
