Deputy Director Bai Qingyuan of the State Administration for Market Regulation stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that they will continue to uphold the principle of equally important regulatory enforcement and service guidance, further improve the network transaction supervision system, and strengthen the responsibilities of platform operators to create a good online shopping environment and provide consumers with a better online shopping experience. They will continue to enhance law enforcement efforts. They have led the launch of the 2024 Special Action for Promoting Development and Ensuring Safety in the Internet Market Supervision, including the handling of 36,000 internet-related cases, referral of 381 cases to public security agencies, and urging online trading platforms to remove 287,000 pieces of illegal product information, require 17,000 website corrections, and request 2,619 website closures, continuously purifying the online shopping environment and promoting the standardized and healthy development of the platform economy.
