The U.S. Treasury Department has asked Iraq to close most of its border crossings with Iran.

On November 8 local time, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hussein said that the U.S. Department of the Treasury has demanded that Iraq close most of its border crossings with Iran, leaving only two crossings open.
