France sees protests for the 4th consecutive weekend.
On November 7, France saw protests and rallies against rising living costs and shrinking public services for the fourth consecutive weekend in many places. Although the number of demonstrators this round was lower than in previous weeks, some protesters still clashed with police in Paris. Some threw objects at security personnel and set off homemade fireworks, and police immediately used tear gas. Others set fire to trash bins and attacked police. After nightfall, some protesters marched all the way to Place de la Bastille in Paris. France's Interior Ministry said 146,000 people took part in demonstrations across the country, including 46,000 in Paris. But labor unions put the figures at 250,000 nationwide and 75,000 in Paris. These numbers were lower than the scale of demonstrations in the previous three weekends, although on November 5 the General Confederation of Labour had just organized a large-scale strike protest.
