Amazon launches text-based shopping feature via Alexa. Amazon said this new text interaction feature can help users search for and compare products, track promotions and price changes, and allow "Alexa for Shopping" to complete purchases on users' behalf. Amazon said the feature is currently being rolled out to a small number of invited U.S. users and is expected to expand to a broader audience in the coming weeks. The launch comes after Amazon recently blocked Meta's AI shopping agent Muse from accessing its e-commerce platform. In addition, Amazon won a court ruling in March this year barring Perplexity's shopping agent Comet from accessing its platform. However, a U.S. appeals court overturned that injunction in August, and the related litigation is still ongoing.
