Sun Xiaohong: Chinese automakers going global must "stand firm and be able to come back"
On November 1, the Automotive Industry Going Global Model Innovation and Development Conference was held in Chengmai, Hainan, under the theme "Industrial Integration Collaborative Going Global." Sun Xiaohong, former Secretary-General of the Automotive Branch of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, attended and delivered a speech. Sun Xiaohong proposed that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Chinese automotive going global enters the 2.0 stage, with the core goal measured by six words"stand firm, bring back." "Stand firm" means holding onto the overseas markets developed during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and avoiding losing them after gaining them; "bring back" requires that overseas operating profits can flow back to China, forming a closed loop with domestic R&D investment to support the industry's sustainable development. He emphasized that the core of this stage is shifting from simply selling products to going global across the entire industrial chain, achieving closed-loop operations and value return.
