The naming ceremony for the "LEKHRAIB," the first vessel of China Merchants Energy Shipping's Phase II LNG carrier project, was held in South Korea.

According to China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES), on October 28-29, the naming ceremony and related events for the first vessel of the "QatarEnergy LNG Carrier Phase II Project" built by CMES at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea were held on Geoje Island and in Busan, South Korea. The "LEKHRAIB" is the first of six 174,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers in the LNG project jointly developed by CMES and QatarEnergy, and is also an important achievement of the first collaboration between CMES and Samsung Heavy Industries. After delivery, the vessel will provide long-term LNG transportation services for QatarEnergy.
