Zhejiang Wenzhou upgrades typhoon emergency response to Level III
At 06:00 today, the center of this year's 30th typhoon "Champi" was located over the ocean about 711 kilometers southeast of Wenzhou, with maximum winds near the center at Force 14. It is expected to move northwest at about 21 kilometers per hour, gradually weakening in intensity. It may brush past or make landfall along the northeastern coast of Taiwan around the 24th, and then move northward while closely skirting the coast of Wenzhou; it may also turn over the ocean northeast of Taiwan and move northward near the coastal waters of Wenzhou. Under the combined influence of "Champi" and cold air, Wenzhou will experience overcast weather with heavy to torrential rain from the night of the 23rd to the 25th, with localized severe torrential rain. The intense precipitation will be concentrated from the 24th to the morning of the 25th, with cumulative rainfall across the city during the event reaching 80-120 millimeters. Following consultation and assessment, the Municipal Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters decided to raise the typhoon emergency response to Level III starting at 08:00 on October 23.
