Market questions outlook, yet Goldman Sachs remains actively pricing Netflix's (NFLX.US) growth narrative of "blockbuster IP + advertising monetization": price target points to 30% upside.
Zhitong Finance APP has learned that the current rebound trajectory of global technology stocks is undergoing a major test during earnings season, and market disagreements over the valuation of streaming giant Netflix (NFLX.US) are increasingly focused on whether its future growth path can accelerate and materialize. On October 19, the semiconductor sector rebounded after nearly two weeks of adjustment. Shares of Micron and SanDisk, the two leading memory chip companies whose stock prices had been hit hard for several consecutive days, rose sharply by about 3% and 5.5%, respectively, outperforming the semiconductor ETF benchmark, which rose 1.7% the ETF SOXX that tracks the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index. However, after Netflix released its earnings data on October 20, although third-quarter profit beat expectations, management's fourth-quarter profit guidance was weak and its full-year advertising revenue forecast was lowered, causing its shares to fall nearly 6% after hours to $64.66.
