Chengdu launches subsidies for the elimination and scrapping of National Stage III and below diesel vehicles, with a maximum subsidy of 45,000 yuan.

Recently, in order to implement the requirements of documents such as the Notice of the State Council on Issuing the Action Plan for Continuous Improvement of Air Quality, accelerate the elimination of diesel vehicles meeting National Stage III and below emission standards, and reduce pollution emissions from mobile sources, Chengdu issued the Implementation Plan for the Subsidy Work for the Elimination and Scrapping of Medium and Large Diesel Passenger Vehicles and Non-Commercial Diesel Trucks Meeting National Stage III and Below Emission Standards in Chengdu. For eligible diesel vehicles that are eliminated and scrapped early, financial subsidies of 0.6 million yuan to 4.5 million yuan will be granted according to vehicle type and the time of early scrapping. The subsidy application period is from the date of issuance of the Plan to November 30, 2026. Subsidy funds shall be implemented under the principle of "total amount control, first come first served, and termination once used up," and applications shall be terminated once the quota is used up. The vehicle scrapping time shall be between 0:00 on January 1, 2026 and 24:00 on November 30, 2026, based on the time of completion of vehicle registration cancellation in the vehicle files registered with the Chengdu public security traffic management department.
