U.S. stocks close: The three major stock indices closed mixed.

The Dow rose 1.02%, the S&P 500 gained 0.29%, and the Nasdaq fell 0.02%. Equifax rose 11.31%, Hasbro gained 11.20%, Moderna rose 6.69%, General Motors fell 6.83%, DaVita fell 6.38%, and Genuine Parts fell 5.17%. Among the "Magnificent Seven": Tesla rose 1.54%, Amazon gained 0.07%, Nvidia fell 0.29%, Microsoft fell 0.31%, Apple fell 1.00%, Google fell 1.11%, and Meta Platforms fell 1.59%.
