In September, none of the BBA models sold more than 10,000 units.
Chinese high-end new energy vehicles are continuing to divert market share from traditional luxury automakers. In the third quarter of this year, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and second-tier luxury automakers continued their downward trend. According to Yicai, since the beginning of this year, even hot-selling models under BBA have seen monthly retail sales fall below 10,000 units. Domestic insurance registration data shows that in September this year, mainstream sedans such as the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class, and the Audi A6L, together with mainstream SUVs such as the X3, GLC, and Q5L, all had retail sales per model stuck below 10,000 units, with the best-selling BMW 3 Series at 9,975 units, just 25 units short of 10,000. This has been a rare phenomenon in the past several years. In contrast, in September last year, retail sales of all six of these models exceeded 10,000 units.
