Multiple banks are competing to participate in a $4.25 billion debt financing to support Curium's acquisition of radiopharmaceutical company Lantheus Holdings. The financing is planned to be syndicated to investors next year. People familiar with the matter said JPMorgan, one of Curium's financial advisers, is leading the arrangement of the financing, and another financial adviser, Jefferies Financial Group, has also joined. The people said several other lenders are in talks to join the financing, and a larger bank syndicate is expected to form soon. Banks are vying for leveraged buyout financing business because such deals typically generate one of the highest fee incomes in investment banking. Participating in deals also helps improve banks' rankings on business league tables, which can in turn affect bankers' bonuses.
