On October 3 local time, UAE Attorney-General Al Shamsi stated that the act by the co-pilot of flydubai Flight FZ1073, who attacked the captain during the flight and attempted to seize control of the aircraft, constituted a "terrorist attack." The Attorney-General said that during the flight, the co-pilot carried out his planned actions, using an emergency fire axe in the cockpit to attack the captain and attempting to take control of the aircraft's controls. The Attorney-General also stated that the investigation is still ongoing, and investigators are verifying physical and digital evidence to determine the nature and motive of the incident.
