Fed whisperer: The core conclusion of the PCE report is that it did not significantly change the trend already known to the market, namely whether price pressures are truly easing or whether the way prices are measured has changed. The June and July data performed well, but that was already known to the market. The August data showed that this trend did not continue, and this was already obvious after the PPI and CPI data were released. Regardless of whether the measurement method has been adjusted, the inflation rate based on market prices is around 3%. The 12-month data looks less unfavorable, but since April 2025, there has still been no progress toward the 2% target.
