In the first nine months, China completed 795 billion yuan in water conservancy construction investment.

The State Council Information Office held a press conference this afternoon as part of its "Getting Off to a Good Start in the 15th Five-Year Plan" series, where relevant officials from the Ministry of Water Resources briefed on efforts to accelerate the development of a modern water network. From January to September this year, 41,400 water conservancy projects of various types were implemented nationwide, with 795 billion yuan invested in water conservancy construction. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will accelerate the development of a basin flood control and disaster reduction system. By the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan, efforts will aim to add 15 billion cubic meters of reservoir storage capacity and raise the compliance rate of important levees to 91 percent.
