Huadong Medicine: HDM1002 tablets Phase III meets endpoints, 12.2% weight loss at 52 weeks

Huadong Medicine announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hangzhou Zhongmei Huadong Pharmaceutical, has achieved positive topline results in the China Phase III study of its independently developed HDM1002 tablets for weight management in overweight or obese populations. All dose groups met all primary endpoints and key secondary endpoints at Week 44; at Week 52, the 200mg QD group and 400mg QD group showed average weight reductions from baseline of 10.7% and 12.2%, respectively, compared with 1.2% in the placebo group. The company has completed Pre-NDA communication and will soon officially submit a marketing application in China.
