Meta Platforms (META.O) unexpectedly unveiled a palm-sized dedicated device for running its new AI assistant Muse at the Connect conference on Wednesday, further expanding its footprint in the AI hardware market. The device stems from the company's new design lab led by former Apple (AAPL.O) interface design chief Alan Dye, as well as collaboration with Meta's superintelligence AI team. The device, called "Muse Charm," resembles the Tamagotchi digital pets popular in the 1990s.
