Meta Platforms (META.O) is expanding its smart glasses lineup, launching a camera-free version and bringing the Muse assistant feature to its smart glasses products. At its annual Connect conference on Wednesday, the company unveiled its first Ray-Ban Meta Audio smart glasses without a camera. Meta also introduced a third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses with a camera, as well as new lower-priced Meta-branded smart glasses. This audio-focused pair of glasses offers Meta an opportunity to re-explore a product category that once sparked controversy over privacy concerns. Meta's camera-free glasses start at $349 and are scheduled to begin shipping on October 3. The third-generation model also features a new "action button" that users can customize to perform specific tasks, such as activating the Muse voice assistant.
