Zhito Finance APP has learned that Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, wrote that from January to September 2026, the tax-exempt new energy vehicle catalog included a total of 22,760 models, of which 355 were new models in September, a relatively high level compared with the same period in the past three years. The catalog resources from February to September were at a similar volume to the same period in 2025, with many new passenger vehicle models, few subsidies, and a sluggish market. There were few new truck models, high subsidies, and a good market. In September, 355 new models were added to the tax-exempt catalog, a sharp decline from 652 in August month-on-month. By category: passenger vehicles accounted for only 65 models, with the number of battery electric, plug-in hybrid, and extended-range filings contracting simultaneously; buses accounted for only 7 models, with a notable cooling in launches. Special-purpose vehicles were the main force for the month, totaling 283 models, of which 266 were battery electric, accounting for more than 70% of the total for the month. The structure of model filings in September showed clear divergence. The pace of new model filings for passenger vehicles and buses slowed, while special-purpose vehicles remained the core support of the purchase tax exemption catalog.
