Preliminary shipping data released on Tuesday showed that the number of commodity transport vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz fell to 2 on Monday from 10 the previous day. The figures do not include vessels that transited the strait with their Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponders switched off to evade monitoring. Data from Kpler showed that a Panama-flagged Supramax bulk carrier loaded with ore and a Liberia-flagged bulk carrier entered the waterway via unknown routes. Meanwhile, shipping intelligence and tracking firm Marisks Intelligence said on Tuesday that a crude oil tanker and a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier were each attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
