According to foreign media reports, eurozone finance ministers may hold a special meeting to discuss how to respond to rising energy prices against the backdrop of fiscal strain and turmoil in global bond markets. According to sources familiar with the closed-door talks, the finance ministers' meeting held in Dublin on Friday expressed concerns about the impact of the Middle East war on households and the pressure that national government measures are placing on public finances. In response to these concerns, Eurogroup President Kyriakos Pierrakakis said he does not rule out the possibility of convening an emergency meeting, but was unwilling to comment on details involving confidential matters.
