Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 3.8% from June to August, while the underemployment rate rose to 1.9%.

According to the latest labour force statistics released today (September 17) by the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department (i.e., the provisional figures for June to August 2026), the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose from 3.7% for May to July 2026 to 3.8% for June to August 2026. The underemployment rate also increased from 1.7% for May to July 2026 to 1.9% for June to August 2026.
