158 diseases, including hypertension and diabetes, have been included in the "Same Disease, Same Payment" program.
The National Healthcare Security Administration and the National Health Commission revealed yesterday that the upcoming release of the DRG/DIP 3.0 grouping scheme will, for the first time, recommend the establishment of primary care disease categories. Among these, there are 31 DRG primary care disease categories and 127 DIP primary care disease categories. In the future, regions will explore implementing "same disease, same payment" within the same medical insurance coordination area for primary care diseases. The 31 DRG primary care disease categories include 27 common internal medicine diseases frequently encountered in primary daily healthcare, such as hypertension, diabetes, respiratory infections, cervical and lumbar spine diseases, and coronary heart disease, as well as four types of primary and secondary surgeries that have matured in technology and can be carried out at the grassroots level. The 127 disease categories that are paid based on their disease score cover common diseases in various systems including respiratory, digestive, circulatory, urinary, and musculoskeletal systems. Yan Bing, Deputy Director of the Beijing Medical Insurance Bureau, stated that the selection criteria are primarily based on "suitability." Targeting "common and frequently occurring diseases" means a wider benefit scope, allowing a large number of insured individuals to meet their healthcare needs at the grassroots level.
