IKEA plans to dispose of the property at the Baoshan shopping mall in Shanghai and has entrusted CBRE as its agent.
IKEA China recently issued a statement regarding the follow-up arrangements for the Shanghai Baoshan store property. Ingka Group has officially entrusted JLL to manage the disposal of certain self-owned properties of closed stores in the Chinese market, including the Shanghai Baoshan store property. The IKEA Shanghai Baoshan store opened in 2013 and ceased operations in 2026, receiving nearly 30 million visitors. IKEA China stated that this self-owned property, located in Baoshan District, Shanghai, has a total construction area of approximately 105,000 square meters. The assets have been fully cleared, and ownership is clear, allowing for immediate handover in their current condition. The project may explore transformation into a community commercial complex, an experiential consumption space integrating cultural and tourism elements, or other innovative business formats in the future.
