At 10 a.m. on August 14, the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a yellow alert for heavy rain, while the Ministry of Transport maintained a level three defense response to strong rainfall. It is expected that from 2 p.m. on August 14 to 2 p.m. on August 15, areas in southern Jiangsu, southern Anhui, Shanghai, Zhejiang, eastern Hubei, northern and eastern Jiangxi, western and southern Fujian, southern and eastern Guangdong, northeastern and southwestern Hainan Island, and southern Taiwan will experience significant to heavy rain. Among these, southern Jiangsu and the southern coastal areas of Guangdong may experience localized torrential rain. The aforementioned areas may also be accompanied by short-duration heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and other severe convective weather. On August 14, the Ministry of Transport conducted point-to-point scheduling with the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation, urging them to maintain a high level of vigilance, closely monitor regions with intensive heavy rainfall and areas at high risk of continuous rain, enhance scheduling, improve working mechanisms, enforce responsibilities, and supervise the implementation of proactive defense measures such as response, inspection, and control to firmly prevent and curb major accidents. Efforts to respond to continuous rainfall should be effectively carried out, with inspection and patrol measures implemented, ensuring preparedness and proactive control are in place.
