Market Closing Review: The STAR 50 Index peaked and then fell, dropping by 1.11%. The innovative drugs and CRO concept sectors performed actively.
The three major A-share indices collectively declined today. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.5%, the Shenzhen Component Index decreased by 0.87%, the ChiNext Index dropped by 0.45%, the Beijing Stock Exchange 50 Index was down by 1.62%, and the Sci-Tech Innovation 50 Index declined by 1.11%. The total market turnover was 400.8 billion yuan, an increase of 40.08 billion from the previous day, with over 4,300 individual stocks in the market experiencing a decline.
In terms of sectors, medical services, CRO concepts, innovative drugs, biological products, and cell immunotherapy sectors saw the largest gains; while precious metals, education, industrial metals, real estate, and photovoltaic equipment sectors experienced the largest losses. On the market, the innovative drugs sector saw a rise and then a pullback, with nearly 10 stocks including Longshen Rongfa, Wanbang Pharmaceutical, Boji Pharmaceutical, and New Mileage hitting the daily limit. New Ganjing, Shengxiang Biotechnology, Jinshi Yayao, and Shutaishen led the gains. E-pharmacy stocks performed actively, with Yaoyigou, Shenqi Pharmaceutical, and Foci Pharmaceutical hitting their daily limits, while Shanghai Kaibao, Biotech Valley, and Liuyao Group followed suit. The precious metals sector continued to decline, with Xiaocheng Technology, Zhaojin Gold, and Hunan Silver seeing the largest drops, followed by Xingye Silver Tin, Chifeng Gold, and Shandong Gold.
The education sector saw an expanded decline in the close, with Chuanzhi Education hitting the daily limit down. Xueda Education, Angli Education, and Huatu Shanding also posted significant losses. Industrial metals also showed weakness, with Tianshan Aluminum, Zhongfu Industrial, and Hongqiao Holdings leading the sector down.
