Today, the first double-decker bulk cargo iron-sea combined transport semi-high container train in our country was launched at the Wanshuiquan South Station in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, heading to Huanghua Port in Hebei. This train has achieved the first seamless connection of semi-high container rail double-decker transportation with maritime transport without any transloading. The standard container, originally 2.6 meters high, has been compressed to a 1.7-meter semi-high container, making it compatible with existing port and rail loading and unloading equipment, allowing for a full "one-container system" transfer throughout the journey. This reduces more than five intermediate transfer processes and lowers the unit transportation cost by over a quarter. It adds a new logistics option for bulk cargo iron-sea combined transport: "no change of container, no opening of container, one container all the way."
