The pilot license testing project for the "Sky Rail Intermodal" autonomous vehicles in West Kowloon, Hong Kong has been approved.

The Transport Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 11th that it has approved an autonomous vehicle testing project under the Road Traffic Regulations for the route between the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of the high-speed rail and the Kowloon Station of the Airport Express. According to the introduction, the project involves four privately-owned cars operating in autonomous driving mode. During the testing period, a backup operator will be present in the vehicle at all times and can take control of the vehicle if needed.
