Driven by demand for exchange-traded funds, the German fund industry has for the first time surpassed 5 trillion euros in managed assets. The German Investment Fund Association (BVI) stated in an announcement on Tuesday that in the first half of this year, the total managed assets in the industry increased by 348 billion euros, reaching 5.2 trillion euros. The increase in asset values contributed most of the growth, while investments in ETFs also brought considerable growth. Of the total net inflow of 74 billion euros across the industry, ETFs attracted nearly 40 billion euros in new funds.
