A nuclear reactor at a French power station has been shut down due to an influx of jellyfish.

French electricity group EDF announced today that three reactors at the Gravelines nuclear power plant in northern France have been forced to shut down due to a massive influx of jellyfish. Currently, only one of the six reactors at the plant is operating at full capacity, another is running at 50%, one is under maintenance, and the remaining three are offline due to the large number of jellyfish. EDF stated that the current situation does not pose a risk to the safety of the nuclear facility, the staff, or the environment. The Gravelines nuclear power plant also experienced a complete shutdown last year due to a large number of jellyfish entering the cooling system, and it took about three days before the first reactor was restarted.
