Ministry of Transport: Continuous rainfall in 14 regions poses high risks to road traffic.

According to the assessment conducted by the Ministry of Transport and the China Meteorological Administration, combined with rainfall data from the meteorological department, as of August 11, two counties in Hubei and Anhui provinces respectively experienced more than 15 days of rainfall, with total precipitation exceeding 600 millimeters, or total rainfall of over 300 millimeters, which is three times higher than the average level for the same period in previous years. Additionally, 12 counties in Anhui, Guangdong, and Guangxi reported over 15 days of rainfall, with total precipitation exceeding 300 millimeters, which is double the average for the same period in previous years. There is a high risk for road transport. The Ministry of Transport has requested that the transport departments of the relevant provinces, under the leadership of local people's governments, effectively manage road safety risk control in areas with high risk of continuous rainfall. They are to strictly implement disaster risk hazard investigation and road inspection requirements, enhance the precision and targeting of their resource allocation, refine proactive defense and control measures, and ensure the safety of public road travel during the period of continuous rainfall.
