An anonymous government source in Turkey stated that, despite reports from some media outlets indicating that NATO member countries are pressuring Ankara, Turkey does not intend to allow warships to pass through its straits. Pro-government newspaper Trkiye reported that, amid the ongoing tense situation in the Black Sea, some NATO member countries are pressuring Ankara to facilitate freer passage for warships through the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits. The report noted that due to the situation arising from the conflict in Ukraine and navigational risks, the issue of allowing warships to pass has become more urgent.
